Signed Copy of Habitat
A practical & inspirational decorating guide for bringing natural elements into your home with sophistication, style & comfort.
Habitat: The Field Guide to Decorating, Lauren’s first book, featuring over twenty-five homes, is intended as a decorating guide for both beginning decorators and for those who love peeking into others' design philosophies and methods. Readers will be inspired by the unique style of these rooms, which include lovely framed botanical prints and Lauren's own textile patterns inspired by wildflowers and weeds.
The book is divided into three sections: Part I focuses on the fundamental elements of design, with each chapter devoted to a particular element, such as color, lighting, and furniture; Part II addresses the intangibles of designing a space, such as aesthetics and creating a mood; and Part III tackles unique room-specific challenges in every part of the house. Available now for preorder.
Release date: October 13, 2015.
Chosen as 'Book of the Year' by NPR
“Liess proves an ability to mix natural elements composed of stone and wood with decidedly modern and vintage items (some of which can be rather eccentric). Figuring into many of the interiors we see in the book are some of Liess’s textile patterns, the sources for which often originate with wildflowers and other foliage. Liess is as methodical in her design work as she is in the organization of the book.” -MILIEU magazine
“Rich with thoughtful advice on how to create livable, comfortable rooms that bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.” - Garden & Gun
